Who’s up for some trading? I am! Over the last year, a lot has happened. And the truth is, a lot of these unfortunate (AND fortunate) events have brought out a lot of people’s true colors. Whether it be your Facebook friends, your real life friends, or your favorite celebrities, thanks to social media, we have access to EVERYBODY’S thoughts on a regular basis…and sometimes, that can be really annoying.
One thing that’s annoyed me to no end is seeing some of my favorite Black celebrities make complete and utter fools out of themselves, turning their backs on the Black community, making comments on national TV and via Twitter that they really should reconsider. So I’ve decided that there are 6 Black people that I’d like to trade in exchange for 6 White folk. Here’s who I’ve chosen:
Everybody loves Uncle Joe Biden. He’s the quintessential wing man. He’s the kinda guy you can always count on. Unfortunately, Biden is the one who needs a shoulder to lean on after this weekend. His son, Beau Biden lost his battle with brain cancer on Saturday, at the age of 46 after his cancer returned this Spring.
Over the years, our First Lady has gotten a lot of flak from conservatives for her “Let’s Move” campaign. The “Let’s Move” campaign is an initiative to promote healthy living in an effort to combat obesity in this country, which in my opinion, is much needed.
The White House Correspondents’ Dinner has never been done quite like this. But frankly, I wouldn’t expect anything less of President Obama. He’s never been one to shy away from CHANGE. Check out this hilarious video, as Obama lets go of his super cool demeanor, and finally gets pissed off. What was the straw that broke the camel’s back? Climate change.
Jada, oh Jada. You just gotta love her! Since her days as “Lena James” on the 80’s hit show A Different World, she’s been a constant reminder that big things really do come in small packages. Nearly 30 years later, now a mother, wife, and self proclaimed “womanist,” nothing much has changed.
Ahhhhhh yes. Let the church say, “Amen.” After months of running around the mulberry bush, the Senate has finally approved Loretta Lynch as the Attorney General. Lynch’s approval comes months after Attorney General Eric Holder stepped down from office, making her the nation’s top law-enforcement official.
