“A hit dog gon’ holler,” my father once said. For those of you who didn’t grow up with grandmas who cooked chitterlings, and the ability to navigate back roads without streetlights, this quote might elude you. But to put it simply, when people are feeling particularly guilty about a thing they’ve done, or continue to do, they tend to respond to general statements and discussions, even if they were never mentioned by name. That is exactly what Future did.

I love Mary J Blige. She is the “Queen of Hip Hop Soul,” the title bestowed upon her by Sean “Puffy” “Puff” “Diddy” “P. Diddy” Combs, himself. Growing up in the mean streets of Yonkers, New York, Mary has always had a little edge-but that’s why we love her. She’s genuine. She’s relatable. And she makes good music.
You may only be familiar with Demetria McKinney from her brief stint on Real Housewives of Atlanta, but trust me when I tell you, this chic is different. As you could probably tell last season, Demetria walks to the beat of her own drum. She never really got caught up in the drama, and perhaps that’s why she didn’t make it to Season 8. But after hearing this cover of Adele’s “Hello”…I’m pretty sure she won’t be needing RHOA…like at all.
Can I just say how much I love Tweet? Probably best known for her sultry, “I can love me better than anybody ever could” anthem “Oops”, Tweet blessed us with her very first album back in 2002. If you ask me, Southern Hummingbird is STILL the sh*t, but that’s Tweet’s style-classic. In an interview with the good people over at Atlanta’s V103 today, the songstress says that she’s grown up a lot over the years, and has really matured. Talking about her walk with Christ, and her newfound liberation, Tweet says that she was finally able to produce a beautiful record-Charlene.
It’s been a long time…she shouldn’t have left us! The Queen of all things eclectic, Miss Missy Misdemeanor Elliott has left us hanging for over ten years, but she’s back and back with a vengeance. Collaborating with fellow Virginia native and production extraordinaire Pharrell Williams, this track is signature Missy-It’s fun, it’s crazy, and best of all, it makes you dance. Check it out.
So after reading this, you’ll probably ask yourself, “What DOESN’T TeDarryl do?”
A singer, writer, actor, print model, stage director and scholar from Petersburg, VA, this guy has planted his feet firmly on the road to the success. With a nearly 4 octave vocal range, his deeply personal music crosses the lines of R&B, soul, experimental, hip-hop, pop & jazz. A two-time graduate of Virginia State University, TeDarryl holds degrees in communications, drama & media management. Impressive, right?
The anticipation has been building over the last few months about who would be stepping up on RHOA now that the head honcho, Nene Leakes had stepped down. And after Porsha Williams got kicked off of the show following a physical altercation with Ms. Twirl AKA Kenya Moore, it left fans wondering who we’d actually have left on the show. Well the votes are in.
Talk about things I never expected to write about! Ummm…so apparently Sanaa Lathan has a song out? I mean this woman has been stepping all outside of boxes lately. First it was the news that she’s dating rapper French Montana, and now this. Wow. Well, I ain’t mad at ya, girl. I’m glad we’re finally getting to see who you REALLY are. And according to Sanaa…it’s a woman named “Brown Sugar.”
