When someone mentions Iggy Azalea’s name, you’re likely to get one of two reactions-sheer annoyance, or utter excitement. While I don’t personally know anyone whose face lights up at the mention of the rapper’s name, (I’m not friends with any tween girls), I’m sure there is SOMEONE out there who really enjoys Iggy’s music. And while it’s true that Iggy Azalea has become a mega popstar over the last year, it’s also become painfully obvious that most Black people think she’s a joke…everybody except T.I. apparently. Because I think Iggy has gotten enough honest feedback about how bad of an artist she is, I try not to make a habit of taking unnecessary digs at the rapper, but today, after reading an article from the Washington Post entitled “How Iggy Azalea Mastered Her ‘blaccent’”, if I don’t talk about the huge elephant in the room, I might implode.
This year has been…interesting. A lot of things have happened. The Nae Nae, Donald Trump, Raven-Symone…Madonna kissed Drake. I mean, this year has really been a doozy. I don’t know about you guys, but I’m totally looking forward to 2016. (I have a thing for even numbers.) But while 2015 was QUITE entertaining, there are some things that reaaalllly got on my nerves this year. Let me break it down for you-here are the top 14 things I hope to GOD we leave right here in 2015.
Iggy Azalea is no stranger to hate. She gets her fair share of negative comments from…pretty much everybody. Honestly, I’ve never witnessed so many celebs talk sh*t about another celeb…ever. Last night, Iggy took home two Billboard Music Awards for “Top Rap Song” and “Top Rap Artist.” And let’s just say, Ice T wasn’t pleased.
The 2015 Grammys was everything I hadn’t hoped for. It was 3 and a half long hours of me trying to keep my eyes open just in case something exciting actually happened. Overall, I was pretty unimpressed with the show. I was hoping to get life from Kanye and Pharrell’s performances, but Kanye’s set was underwhelming and if I hear “Happy” one more time, BABY I’m going berserk! But towards the end, things got good. And there were even some fun moments on the red carpet. Check out my favorite moments at the Grammys. The Good, The Bad, and Rihanna’s Dress.
