Love, clean air, a President who reads above a third grade level…But what we absolutely DON’T need today, tomorrow, or next week, is a Baby Boy sequel. On Monday, however, much to my chagrin, Tyrese announced via Instagram that a sequel was most certainly on the way. Not sure what we did to deserve this.
The 89th annual Academy Awards show aired last night, setting social media and news outlets ablaze. Like always, the fashion was amazing (depending on who you ask), the celebs were slightly annoying, and the online commentary was side splitting. (Thank you, #BlackTwitter) And while these things were to be expected, there were a few firsts last night that stole the show-and our hearts.
So of course when I got an invite to a screening of the much anticipated film, San Andreas, I was more than thrilled. I’d been dying to see a new movie, and naturally, I’m always down to look at “The Rock” for a few hours. But I have to say, the movie was not what I expected at all.
Wow. After weeks of internet buzz and built up anticipation, I was finally able to sit down and see this movie for myself. Last night, I joined some of Atlanta’s movers and shakers as we kicked back and enjoyed this awesome film. I’ll be the first to admit that it takes a lot to impress me, but after last night, I was moved. This film definitely lives up to its name.
Well I don’t know about you guys, but I’ve been waiting for the return of Spike Lee for a very long time. Kinda like how we felt when Mike made a return, wearing the number 45, we’re excited, we’re watching, we’re hopeful.
While I couldn’t be more happy to see Spike getting back to work, it seems like he’s already ruffled some feathers.
When I heard that the Black Women in Film Network Summit (BWFN) was making its way to ATL, you know I just HAD to be there. I was excited about the networking, the art, the positivity, and of course, the parties! This past weekend, I got to rub elbows with the Black Hollywood elite…and boy did I have fun! Check it out:
