“You have to want to win at life.”
I’m going to keep this Final Thought really short and simple. You cannot be great without believing that you will be great. There is no room for people with a “losers” mentality. Sure, everyone isn’t always going to win, at every thing, but you damn sure better TRY. Nothing is impossible as long as you have breath in your body. THAT’S how you have to think. Of course, it may be idealistic. Maybe it’s far fetched. But THIS is the mentality you need to make it in life, and be a success. You can’t give up. Ever. You have to want to WIN!
“You can identify a tree by the fruit it bears.”
In life, it can be hard to tell who’s who…or so we think. We end up confusing ourselves by trying to figure out if we should trust certain people. Should we do business with them? Should we loan them money? Should we be in a relationship with them? We go through this back and forth kind of thing where we aren’t quite sure who should be in, and who we should just kick the hell out. Well friends, there is one very simple rule that hasn’t steered me wrong yet. Just like trees, you can tell a person by the fruit they bear. What are they DOING? What kinds of things are they PRODUCING? Stay away from people who are all talk. Treat your relationships like jobs. You want RESULTS. If your boyfriend is telling you he loves you, but cheats on you every other week, the things he’s doing, the outcomes he’s producing don’t align with the things he’s TELLING you. At that point, you’ve discovered you’ve been holding on to a cactus. Don’t be that person. When someone shows you who they are, listen. And there will always be clues to help you along the way, because as we all know, the fruit doesn’t EVER fall far from the tree.
“As Quickly As You Go Up, You Can Go Down”
There’s nothing like having your dreams come true. Nothing’s better than finally reaping the benefits of your hard work. When we finally reach our goals, it’s easy to get lost in the sauce. Money, champagne, and fancy cars can sometimes cloud our vision. It’s important to ALWAYS remember where you came from. Treat every day at the top like it could be your last. Don’t burn bridges, and exercise the Golden Rule. Nothing is promised. So don’t let it go to your head. Never forget: As Quickly As You Go Up, You Can Go Down.
“True Success is Balance”
Life. It gets crazy. And sometimes the scales get unbalanced. But in order to maintain success, you have to BE balanced. Too much of anything is never a good idea. Work, down time, wine. Too much of either can make for a bad day. Even though life can throw a fast ball at us better than ANY pitcher in the MLB, we have to take time to center ourselves. Make sure you’re including all the necessary elements to nourish your mind, body and soul. All the money in the world won’t make you happy, nor will it make you truly successful.
“Character Matters. We are Accountable for Our Influence.”
I hear a lot of people people, especially celebrities telling people that they aren’t role models. If this were a year ago, I would’ve agreed. But now, I know that simply isn’t true. Every one is a role model to SOMEONE. You don’t have to be rich or famous to be a role model. Whether you’re working as a school teacher, a CEO of a major company, or a Pop Star, what you do and who you are matters. How you treat people means something. I know it’s difficult to accept, (I had a hard time accepting this) but somebody is always watching. And whether we like it or not, we have an impact on the world. In my opinion, this generation has lost sight of what it means to have character, integrity, HONOR. We are accountable for our influence, and we have to start acting like it.
Let it gooooo…let it goooo…who would’ve thought that a kids’ movie like Disney’s Frozen could ever lend you some grownup advice?
Good Morning and Happy Friday from the desk of KarmaJonez! Always remember: “The expert at anything, was once a beginner.”
A lot of people will try and make you doubt yourself. YOU will doubt yourself. But listen, bay-BAY: Wherever you worked your BUTT off to BE, you belong there. And don’t let ANYBODY tell you different.
