I love Denzel Washington. He’s absolutely my favorite actor. I’d like to think he’s EVERYBODY’S favorite actor-I mean, why wouldn’t he be? Frankly, if you ever meet anyone who DOESN’T like Denzel Washington, then you just might wanna reconsider forming any real friendship with them. Clearly they don’t have good judgement-better safe than sorry.
Yes sir! Denzel is one hell of a thespian. (I love that word) His career spans over more than 30 years. Shortly after graduating from Fordham, the legendary actor made his screen acting debut in the 1977 made-for-television film Wilma. Following that, he made his first Hollywood appearance in the 1981 film Carbon Copy. In short-he’s been in this game for a minute. And now, after all of the work he’s put in, in front of as well as behind the camera, Denzel has been named the 2016 recipient of the Cecil B. DeMille Award via the Golden Globes.
And because I’m such a huge Denzel fan, I’ll be tuning in this Sunday to watch him accept his award, and of course I’ll to be tweeting like a crazy person. But before all of that happens, let’s take a trip down memory lane to take a look at the top 9 performances from Denzel Washington-ever.
9. Remember the Titans–
5. American Gangster–
4. John Q-An amazing monologue by Denzel Washington in John Q when he is saying goodbye to his son, right before he is going to kill himself so his son can have his heart.
Whew! That was impressive, right?! Tell me, do you agree with my choices? What are your favorite Denzel performances? Comment below!
