14 Things I Sincerely Hope We Leave in 2015

New Year 2015 formed from sparking digits over black background

This year has been…interesting. A lot of things have happened. The Nae Nae, Donald Trump, Raven-Symone…Madonna kissed Drake. I mean, this year has really been a doozy. I don’t know about you guys, but I’m totally looking forward to 2016. (I have a thing for even numbers.) But while 2015 was QUITE entertaining, there are some things that reaaalllly got on my nerves this year. Let me break it down for you-here are the top 14 things I hope to GOD we leave right here in 2015.

1. Annoying memes

This year, you guys have put a peculiar amount of time into making some extremely bizarre memes. I don’t know where you guys come up with this stuff, but STOP.

2. Hoverboards

Just. F*cking. Walk. You don’t need a hoverboard. You don’t. I don’t care what social media has told you. You look stupid. Everyone else hates you. Except of course the other idiots on hoverboards. This goes for the adults. And adults-don’t buy your kids these things. I hear they’re catching on fire left and right. Probably God smiting us for being such assholes.

3. Bad butt injections

Only a few things should happen in basements-storage, wild sex, parties your parents don’t know about, and man caves. Butt injections are completely out of the question. Stop it. Your legs can barely hold you up, and you could possibly DIE. Do better.

4. These weight loss shakes & teas

We. Know. You’re. Not. Drinking. Those. Shakes. We know they didn’t make you skinny. We know you’ve been under the knife more times than a Thanksgiving turkey. Stop trying to trick these poor girls with low self esteem into buying these products. You’re horrible people.

5.Regular people recreating DJ Khaled’s Snaps

Ok. It was funny at first. But now this is becoming problematic. Let DJ Khaled make his inspirational snaps, and y’all just continue doing whatever you were doing before that.

6.Caitlyn Jenner

Caitlyn. We were rooting for you. But it turns out that Caitlyn still has Bruce tendencies. Still a smart ass. Still catty. Still selfish. Still Republican. And not doing a damn thing with your platform. Blah. We’re over you, girl.

What have you done for me lately? What have you done for anybody? You’re ineffective. You’re merely a rebuttal to #BlackLivesMatter. You’re in the way. We don’t need you as we proceed into 2016, Thanks! Find somebody else to troll!

8.Netflix and Chill concept

We get it. It was fun while it lasted. While Netflix and talking over some cheap wine sounds thrilling-I do it all the time-you guys have turned it into something foul and annoying. Take it with you, 2015. We’ve overdone it. We apologize.

10.The New Kanye

The Kanye West we know and love called George Bush out for not caring about Black people. He gave us the masterpiece we now know as “College Dropout.” The “Through the Wire” Kanye-the “I’m so goddamn Chicago” Kanye…please, come back to us. We’re leaving the new Ye in 2015…along with his fashion line.

11.Unnecessary Attacks on Iggy Azalea

Iggy be at her house chillin’, not bothering NOBODY, and then all of a sudden, Erykah Badu’s on TV throwing major shade. Erykah’s not the only one. People do it all the time. People criticize EVERYTHING she does. I’m not an Iggy fan by ANY means, but at this point, it’s basically bullying. Let her mourn the end of her career in peace, for God’s sake!

12.Taking Pics With “phones” made of money

I don’t know what to say about this trend, so I’ll let my boy Free handle it.

Let’s not disappoint Jesus.

13.Young Thug

Need I say more?

Also, let’s get rid of the man pushing the wheelchair, because he should know better.

14.Bad Eyebrows

Girls. Leave this. Leave it all at the MAC counter. All the products you used to do this-leave them. I know you chics have been watching a lot of YouTube videos this year, and think you’ve mastered these looks, but the truth is, you haven’t. You really haven’t. And if nobody else is gonna tell you, I will. Don’t take this sh*t into 2016. I mean it.

What are some things you’re looking forward to leaving in 2015? Tell me about the trends that really grinded your gears this year!
