Can I just say how much I love Tweet? Probably best known for her sultry, “I can love me better than anybody ever could” anthem “Oops”, Tweet blessed us with her very first album back in 2002. If you ask me, Southern Hummingbird is STILL the sh*t, but that’s Tweet’s style-classic. In an interview with the good people over at Atlanta’s V103 today, the songstress says that she’s grown up a lot over the years, and has really matured. Talking about her walk with Christ, and her newfound liberation, Tweet says that she was finally able to produce a beautiful record-Charlene.
Last night, here in Atlanta, GA, the singer-songwriter previewed her forthcoming album Charlene at the Artist Factory. The evening was moderated by radio/TV personality, Egypt Sherrod and featured an impromptu acoustic performance of “Always Will” from Tweet.
The intimate evening included music playback of the new album with commentary on song inspiration and feedback from Tweet. In attendance, were singer/songwriter Kelly Price, celebrity hairstylist Derek J, dancer/actress Andrea Kelly, actor Clifton Powell, and actor Keith Robinson. Check out some pics below!
So if you’ve been waiting for the Southern Hummingbird’s comeback like I have, no worries-you don’t have to wait any longer. You can actually pre-order the album through Amazon right here.
Make sure you let me know how much you loved it! Tweet says she’s working with the same producers as she did on her last two albums, so we know we’re pretty much guaranteed an awesome album that we’re going to want to play over and over again!
