Diddy Says Voting is a “Scam”

Well damn. I mean, damn. I kinda don’t even know what to say. When a celebrity takes a bold stance like this, it’s always slightly shocking for me. Especially when it has to do with politics. I guess the main reason I’m a little discombobulated is because back in 2004, Diddy was one of the MAIN celebs who was trying to get people (especially young people of color) to the polls.

Remember Vote or Die? Yea…that was over a decade ago. Puff Daddy was running around telling everybody they had better vote…OR ELSE! Considering Diddy’s influence, most people jumped on the bandwagon–me included. But now, it looks like Mr. Combs has pulled the wagon over and put that (Bad Boy) in park. Apparently, he’s over the whole voting thing.

In a Q&A at Revolt’s music conference, Mr. Diddy told everybody how he REALLY feels about the voting process.

“See the things that’s tricky about politics is there’s so much bullsh*t with it. We started Vote or Die and… and from the community we’re in, we’re not with hearing too much of the bullsh*t. So that’s why we get disenfranchised, [we’re] disconnected because nothing that they’re saying actually relates to us… So Vote or Die, and getting out the vote, those things [were] laid out there so people could understand about the process. We started Vote or Die, and the whole process was all full of sh*t. The whole sh*t is a scam.

He then added that people could still vote if they wanted: “At the end of the day, I’m not telling you not to vote. But I’m saying be a realist and know that they’re motherf*cking kicking some bullsh*t up there.”

So what do you think? Is he telling the truth, or nah?
