Howard University Student Assaulted By DC Police

I’ve just about had enough. I’m truly over talking about this sh*t. Another day, another innocent Black person assaulted by the police. Today, a Howard student by the name of Jason was assaulted by D.C. police at a Citi Bank in SE.

Police claim Jason “fled” on foot and that his friend taking video of the incident qualified as “interfering” with police.

“The initial call was for a suspicious person, three subjects may be trying to rob people at the ATM,” Officer Sean Hickman of MPD said in a statement Tuesday. “The location for the call was 6th St and Pennsylvania Ave SE. Officers in the area responded to the assignment. One individual fled on foot from the police, was chased, and then taken down. The individual resisted, and was handcuffed while resisting after he refused to stop. The person making the video was interfering with police, and was also detained while the incident was investigated. Neither individual was arrested.”

Yea…but they WERE ASSAULTED!

People all over D.C., including students and professors at Howard’s campus have mobilized and issued a call to action.
