After the tragic passing of the late great Whitney Houston, followed by the untimely death of his daughter, Bobbi Kristina, many of us are left wondering what will become of Bobby Brown. A legend in his own right, Bobby has often been criticized and even demonized by the press and those close to Whitney and his daughter. Now, the last one standing, Bobby is opening up about what really happened over the last few decades.
The memoir will be appropriately entitled, “My Prerogative” after his 1988 hit single. Brown recently landed a major publishing deal with a company by the name of Dey Street Books, and the streets are buzzing.
“‘My Prerogative’ is the story of a man who has been on the top of the mountain and in the depths of the valley and who is now finally ready to talk about his career and family life, from the passion and the excess to his creative inspirations and massive musical success,” the company told the Associated Press.
Bobby says that working on this project has been therapeutic for him, and he promises that he’s been extremely honest in the book.
“Right after I signed on to write my story, I went through one of the most agonizing traumas I had ever experienced with the death of my daughter, but I was surprised by how therapeutic it was to work on this project, to look at the entire arc of my life and to realize that although there has been considerable pain, I have also been incredibly blessed,” Brown said. “I hope my fans and other readers of this book will be entertained by this trip into the crazy, exciting, fascinating world of Bobby Brown. And I hope they will feel that I have been as honest and open with them in these pages as I have tried to be my entire life.”
Seriously, how can you not love Bobby?
The book hits stands in June of 2016. I’m definitely going to get a copy as soon as it drops! What about you?
