Whew chile! This is gonna be good! IF Lifetime doesn’t completely f*ck it up, that is. As we all know, they have a history of stealing our joy when it comes to these biopics, often having us shaking our heads throughout the entire duration of the movie.

mikeI know y’all remember this. Flex Washington as the late, great Michael Jackson. SMH. I think most of us are still sorry we wasted two hours of our lives watching this nonsense.

Then there was the Aaliyah movie. That too got no love from fans. So basically, what I’m trying to say is Lifetime doesn’t have the best track record when it comes to making us believe what it is they’re putting on the screen.

I mean, I don’t know why we’re TOO surprised. We’ve all seen Lifetime movies before they started making biopics. Very corny, very predictable, the white lady always falls running from her killer. That’s just what they do.

But now the people over at the network are strapping on their big girl undies, and they are taking on the story of the iconic Ms. Toni Braxton. And I’m just gonna be honest with you, I’m scared out of the outcome.

The film, which will be titled “Unbreak My Heart: The Toni Braxton Story” is set to start production later this year.

The authorized life story is billed as “the never-before-told story of the measures Braxton took to make herself and her family whole again, serving as an inspiration to people around the world.” From her humble beginnings to her battle with Lupus, financial woes, divorce, and raising a son with autism, the story will also highlight her success in the music industry as a Grammy Award winning singer.

Look, all I know is, they better not mess this one up. And I’m speaking for all Toni fans around the world…we will NEVER forgive you if you ruin this for us. Choose the cast wisely!

Thoughts? Who would be good for the role of Toni?

While you’re thinking, let’s get into this CLASSIC!
