10 Celebs I Like More After Social Media, 8 Celebs I Like Less, & 6 I Wish I Didn’t Follow

We all have our favorite celebrities. Some we like more than others. But let’s be honest, social media has really changed the way we look at some of our faves. Social media has allowed us to really get inside famous people’s heads…and sometimes, to be quite frank, I wish we didn’t have this kind of access.

So I’ve compiled three different lists. There’s a list for celebs I actually liked before social media, celebs I like more because of social media, and celebs I wish I didn’t follow, but I do. Enjoy!

8 Celebs I Actually Liked BEFORE Social Media–

1. Dream Hampton

In theory. She was always dope to me. A writer, an activist, a filmmaker. Her resume is impressive. From producing BET’s “Black Girls Rock” to being behind Jay Z’s New York Timesย bestselling book, โ€œDecodedโ€, Dream has a pretty good record. Until I got wind of her social media account. Over the last month, Dream has showed her true colors; attacking activists Deray and Netta on a public forum. It was horrifying to watch. Since the indicent, she’s deleted some of her tweets directed at Netta. But here are a few I could find.

This all comes after Presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders and his people decided to meet with Deray about policy. Dream wasn’t happy about that because Deray was not a part of the “Black Lives Matter” organization. (as if that matters) Dream was then called out by another activist via text message, who she later told to she wanted to “fight” in the street. (Via Twitter) Here are some of the texts:

Just petty and messy. Things got a lot worse. Click here to read more of the texts.

2. 50 Cent

I used to reeallly love 50! I mean, he gave us “Get Rich or Die Tryin.” It’s a classic if you ask me. But after following him on IG, I realized…he’s not a good person. And he’s sooooo petty.

3. Stacey Dash

She was so likable in the movie “Clueless.” She’s gorgeous. She seemed like a sweetheart. Until her career failed and she lived up to the movie title. Now she’s some right wing nut job who spends her days pretending to be Sarah Palin. If only she could get that brown skin off, her life would be complete!

And this is a tweet she RT’d

4. Kim Kardashian

You know, I’ve never been on the Kim K hate train. I didn’t really understand it. To me, she was just a girl who was living her life, and was using her looks to get her places. Ummmm…that’s what most pretty girls do, except most of us never make it to Kim K status. So those who didn’t like her were just hating, as far as I was concerned. Until one day, while looking at her billionth selfie, it clicked. She annoyed me. Ok girl. We get it. You got the “smise” down pact. But I think it was the fake, “People keep saying I’m not pregnant” excuse to take a naked pic that really was the straw that broke the camel’s back.

First they said I'm too skinny so I have to be faking it…Now they say I'm too big so I have to be faking it…SMH! Some days I'm photographed before I eat & look smaller, some days I've just eaten & I look bigger. It's all a part of the process. I think you all know me well enough to know I would document the process if I got a surrogate. Everyone's body is different, every pregnancy is very different! I've learned to love my body at every stage! I'm going to get even bigger & that's beautiful too! I'm blessed to even be pregnant & even luckier to not have preeclampsia as far as I know, so I don't have the swelling issue this time! They also say your body carries a boy different than a girl! Whatever the case may be I'm grateful to God for this miracle & no matter what rumors or comments you throw my way this time they truly don't affect me! #NoFilter #NoPhotoShop #GoodLighting ๐Ÿ˜œ

5. Floyd Mayweather

At one point, I loved this guy. He’s a winner. He’s fine. He talks a lot of shit. But then I realized, he wasn’t humble. And that reallly turned me off.

“My new 4.8 Million dollar car”…who says that?

Then there was that time I saw him burning money. Yuck.

6. Raven-Symone

I love “That’s So Raven” and Olivia from “The Cosby Show” as much as the next person, but I’ve come to learn that adult Raven-Symone is somebody I don’t really f*ck with. From her agreeing that Michelle Obama looks like an ape, to her not wanting to be Black, I’ve had about enough of Ms. Raven in the year 2015. Now Raven-Symone hasn’t necessarily tweeted or “Instagrammed” anything particularly stupid, but social media has DEFINITELY made me more aware of her…ummm “views.”

7. Marlon Wayans

So after we found out that Hulk Hogan had been going around calling people niggers, Marlon Wayans quickly jumped to Hogan’s defense. Apparently, it was his duty to tell the world how nice of a man Hogan had been to him in the past.

Marlon…bye boy.

8. Meek Mill

Nobody likes a sore loser. Also, nobody likes people who throw other people under the bus. (Especially when those “people” are Drake) That’s pretty much why no one likes Meek Mill anymore. “I’m a Boss” is still fire though!

10 Celebs I Like MORE After Following Them on Social Media

1.Tracee Ellis Ross

I already liked her. But NOW? I mean, have y’all seen T-Murda??

The there’s this

2. Snoop Dogg

I mean, I don’t know what’s funnier, the scarves, him actually telling people to make memes out of his pictures, or the thought of how high he must be while using his social media accounts.

3. Jesse Williams

I think it’s obvious why I love him. He looks like Heaven. That’s really the only reason I followed him. It was a “superficial follow.” But little did I know, I was going to be in for a treat. Jesse Williams is one of the most intelligent, conscious brothers I follow on social media. God bless him and his beautiful ass face.

6. Amandla Stenberg

Talk about a young woman who is way ahead of her time. For those of you who don’t know, Amandla Stenberg is an American actress. She is best known for her portrayal of young Cataleya in Colombiana and Rue in The Hunger Games. She’s been in the headlines a lot lately because of her strong stance on certain issues. Namely, racism, police brutality, and feminism.

I love that we’re getting to know Solange via social media. I feel like people always just assumed that Solange was just Beyonce’s sister. And her social media has shown us that that couldn’t be further from the truth. Her Instagram is perfect, and she never misses a beat on Twitter.

8. The Game

I don’t know. I never really cared about The Game. But after following him on social media, he kinda has a special place in my heart.

I want to wish a very special 5th birthday to the person who I could absolutely not live without….. @LittleMissCaliDream. 5 years baby, & every single day I have woke.. I have thanked God for blessing me with you. I will never truly understand what I did so good in my life, that God would give me you….. I never truly understood what people meant when they say "Wait til you have a daughter" until the day you were born…… That beautiful day 5 years ago was the greatest moment I've ever witnessed & everyday since then I've watched you grow & blossom into that of a young queen… & I am here to make sure that you are treated as so for the rest of my time with you here on earth. See, I am your FATHER…… & that title to me is a gift.. One that I will always cherish & no one can EVER come between the bond we've created together. I will LOVE you, take CARE of you, PROTECT you & catch every single one of your tear drops before they hit the ground…. Not just because it is my duty as your father, but because I have never loved anyone in my life as much as I love you Cali !!!!!! I named you CALIFORNIA because this is where God chose to bless me with you…. I gave you "DREAM" as a middle name because from the 1st time I ever looked into your eyes… It felt like you were too good for me & everything else on earth… I felt someone that beautiful could only be seen in a DREAM….. & since that day, we have been BEST FRIENDS & as long as your DADDY is alive & breathing, life will be BEAUTIFUL because I will not rest until everything is PERFECT for YOU !!! So again, HAPPY BIRTHDAY CALI, your daddy LOVES YOU to the moon & back…. Oh, & to the moon & back again โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’œ

9. Beyonce

Believe it or not, I’ve never really been a Beyonce STAN. I dig her music. I think she’s a wonderful performer. She’s gorgeous. But I always thought her personality was BLAH. She seemed like little Miss Perfect…until Instagram.

Matt McGorry is one of the stars of the hit Netflix series “Orange is the New Black”. His tweets speak for themselves.

6 Celebs I Hate That I Have to Follow/Ghost Follow

I don’t know why I do this to myself, but I…can’t…stop…following…them. OR I don’t follow them, but I check their page every now and again.

1. Blac Chyna

I don’t know why I do this to myself.

Jesus Christ. How many apologies are you going to issue via social media? How many times are you going to continue to f*ck up? How many times are you going to attack people via social media? I have a hard time following this guy…yet I continue to follow him, because he’s always up to something! It’s like, dude…you gotta get your emotions under control. You’re damn near 30. Most of his tirades have been deleted from his accounts.

6. Nicki Minaj

I can’t quite put my finger on it…don’t understand why I’m annoyed. All I know is I am. But I feel like, if I don’t follow her, I’ll miss something.

IDK…just over it to be honest.

So what do you think about this list? Which celebs do you like more or less because of social media? And which celebs are you following that you wish you weren’t?
