‘Training Day’ Is On Its Way to Becoming a TV Series

TrainingDay

Everybody’s heard of Alonzo Harris. The I don’t give a f*ck, drug using, bottle poppin’, foul mouthed, trigger happy, no good detective in the movie “Training Day.” A wolf in sheep’s clothing, Alonzo Harris is probably one of the greatest characters to ever grace the big screen. Naturally, when you have such a powerful character, you need to find an actor that is just as powerful. *enters Denzel Washington* Hey boo. *waves* It’s been about 15 years since we first met Alonzo, and thanks to the people over at CBS, we’ll meet again very soon.

According to Variety, CBS is producing a TV pilot based on the movie. The original “Training Day” movie director Antoine Fuqua is behind the television series, attached as director and executive producer.

Well would you look at THAT?

I just have one question…WHO COULD POSSIBLY TAKE DENZEL’S PLACE?

Nobody. That’s who.

But if I had to make some suggestions…here’s who I got:

Jamie Foxx

jamie

Although we usually think of him as the funny guy, we’ve seen Jamie play “bad” before. Let’s not forget “Bait.”

Don Cheadle

Larenz Tate

Don’t believe me? Watch a clip of the movie “Gun Hill”

Mekhi Phifer

If you’ve seen him in ANYTHING, this is self explanatory.

Columbus Short

Can’t nobody play crazy like Columbus Short…although I’m 98.9% sure he ain’t playin’. I could totally see him in this role. And he should definitely use the creepy voice he used when he was on “Scandal.”

Forest Whitaker

Now THIS is what you call a thespian! He can basically be whoever, whenever. And I KNOW y’all saw him in the “King of Scotland.” Certified cray.

What do you guys think? Who should they choose to fill Denzel’s shoes?
