Leave it to BET to get it ALMOST right. So here’s the deal…we all want a New Edition biopic, right? But we want ALL the members of the group to be in the biopic…RIGHT? Well apparently, BET didn’t feel that was necessary.
Will somebody please explain to me how the hell you’re gonna make a biopic about New Edition and not include Bobby MothaF*ckin’ BROWN?!
According to REVOLT, Bobby Brown will be the only original member of the group not featured in the film. The TV movie will be a three night event that will air on BET some time next year.
Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins, Ronnie DeVoe, Johnny Gill and Ralph Tresvant will all co-produce the movie…WITHOUT BOBBY BROWN.
I don’t know about y’all, but I don’t even wanna see that sh*t. Like, that’s like saying you’re gonna make a movie about the Jackson 5 without Mike…no thanks. You can keep it.
So you mean to tell me, you’re not gonna include this guy?
So you’re just gonna blatantly disregard the body roll champion of the world? K.
Here’s a statement from the group:
“It’s been a long time coming and that time is finally here! Now that we have signed the deal, New Edition’s journey will be captured in a three-night miniseries to tell our life story through our very own eyes. We are happy to have New Edition Enterprises collaborate with BET Networks’ Debra Lee and Stephen Hill along with Jesse Collins Entertainment,” said New Edition. “From our beginning in the Orchard Park Projects in Boston to Hollywood and everything in between, just like The Temptations and The Jackson Five—we are ready to retrace our footsteps and show everyone how we got here. For the fans all over the world, this one’s for you.”
No it ain’t! We want Bobby! Ugh. What do you guys think about this? Will you be tuning in?
