Wimbledon 2015: Serena Defeats Her Sister Venus In a Super Close Match

Personally, I hate when Venus and Serena have to play each other. In my mind, they’re both champions, but of course, only one athlete can take home the trophy. This time, it was the super talented Miss Serena Williams. She beat her sister Venus 6-4, 6-3 in the fourth-round match.

What does Serena think about playing her big sister? According to the NY Times, it’s still hard for her.

“It definitely doesn’t get easier,” she said of facing her sister Venus. “But today I was out there and I thought, ‘Wow. I’m 33, and she just turned 35. I don’t know how many more moments like this we’ll have.’ I just wanted to take the moment in,” Serena said. “I remember when we were 8 years old. We dreamed of these moments. It was kind of surreal there.”

She also went on to say that it’s hard because she loves her sister so much.

“It’s hard to feel excited about (beating) someone you root for all the time no matter what and who you love so much and she’s your best friend in the world,” Serena said. “It’s never easy but you just play for the competition and enjoy the moment.”

With this win, Serena advances to the Wimbledon quarterfinals.

I think it’s safe to say that Serena Williams is probably the best tennis player in the world. No?
