So…let me get this straight. Taylor Swift writes an open letter to Apple, and VOILA! She’s a national hero. But essentially, Jay-Z did the same thing with his streaming service TIDAL, and everybody has a problem with it. For why?
Serious question: Why is millionaire Taylor Swift's demand she be paid fairly lauded whereas Jay Z, Tidal, etc's was derided as greedy?

Good question Kayleigh.
I’m going to go out on a limb and say…it’s because she’s white woman. And Jay-Z’s…you know…a Black man. Simple as that. People (both Black and white) cannot fathom the idea of “making” Jay-Z richer. But because it’s Taylor Swift…well…she gets whatever she wants.

“When I woke up this morning and I saw Taylor’s note that she had written, it really solidified that we needed to make a change,” Apple Senior Vice President Eddy Cue said in an interview with The Associated Press.
Here’s an excerpt from Swift’s letter on her Tumblr page entitled “To Apple, Love Taylor.”:
“We don’t ask you for free iPhones. Please don’t ask us to provide you with our music for no compensation. She added, “We know that this incredible company has the money to pay artists, writers and producers for the 3 month trial period.”

But what’s the difference between Taylor’s call to arms and Jay-Z’s? They’re both saying the same thing in different ways: They want artists, (especially Indie artists), producers, writers to have a say over their music and get PAID. I don’t understand how Taylor is now a hero. Anyone care to enlighten me?
