Sexual Assault? It’s Going On Your Transcript

Let’s give a hand clap for the state of New York. They’ve decided that enough is enough, and they want to make it clear that if you’ve committed an act of sexual assault, then there will be consequences for your actions…INCLUDING having it added to your transcript.

According to Jezebel, the state is proposing new legislation that would require college transcripts to note when a student has been found responsible for sexual assault. Currently Virginia is the only state where this measure is required.

Reportedly, New York has dished out approximately $10 Million in their efforts to address campus assaults.

The Huffington Post’s Tyler Kingkade reports that the proposed law is part of a package of campus sexual assault reform efforts announced earlier this week by Governor Andrew Cuomo and titled “Enough is Enough.”

I love this idea. I think it’s important that people know who they’re dealing with in order to protect everyone’s safety campus wide. What do you think about the proposed legislation? Yay or nay?
