Yes! Finally, the truth about stretchmarks is being revealed. The truth is, you can have stretchmarks at any age, at any size, at any race. When I was younger, I hated the fact that I had stretchmarks. I felt fat…ugly. I bought an embarrassing amount of creams and lotions, all promising to take the marks away for good! But as I got older, I absolutely did not care. I got over it. My boyfriends didn’t seem to mind…and soon enough I realized that stretchmarks simply aren’t that big of a deal.
The sad part is, many women all over the world still struggle with body image daily, myself included. Whether it’s stretchmarks, the desire for a flatter stomach, or bigger boobs, the struggle continues.
According to a Glamour survey of more than 300 women of all sizes, on average, women have 13 negative body thoughts daily—nearly one for every waking hour. Even more shocking, many women confess to having 35-100 hateful thoughts about their own shapes each day.
The cool part about the #LoveYourLines campaign is that it encourages women to love their bodies, and embrace their flaws. It seems like this movement has really taken off, and I couldn’t be more thrilled! Check out the pics below!
